Infusing French culture beyond the classroom through food, art and music, French teachers at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Elementary School hosted a French Cafe last week. Using the Grade 7 French curriculum’s restaurant unit, students were inspired to showcase their practical knowledge with the remaining school community creating an authentic cafe experience with students ordering French treats, in French, listening to French music, and taking photos at a fun pop-up photo booth. Students took the initiative to decorate, prepare menus and table numbers, and plan out a French focused playlist for their resident DJ to play through.
