Grades 4 to 12
The French as a Second Language program at Wellington Catholic offers a core French experience to students in grades 4 through 12. Students are exposed to both oral and written communication including an appreciation for the French culture. Emphasis is placed on speaking and listening, although reading and writing are also important components of the program.
To graduate from high school, students need 1 credit in French (which is typically taken in grade 9), and may also count 2 other French credits towards the 18 compulsory credits they need to receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
